Last week, Ian Henshaw from Lightmedia Displays made a visit to the College to meet Level 2 & 3, Creative Media students.
Lightmedia specialises in providing large LED displays and delivering live multi-camera events. They cover everything from music festivals, sporting events (like the UK’s Strongest Man competition last month) to providing pubs with an outdoor screen for customers to safely watch the football.
Craven College students have signed up to volunteer to assist Lightmedia in covering the Gateways Festival which takes place in August. The coverage will be live on the big festival screens and streamed live on the internet. Ian brought along an outside broadcast truck and a large LED display to demo to the students before the big event.
This work experience could see them doing a wide range of tasks like working in the truck’s control room, camera operating, interviewing and liaising with clients.
