Horse Management

Two Horse Management tutors spent the weekend helping out at the Young Farmers District Rally held at the Auction Mart in Skipton.

Joanna Baxter and Jenny Huxall were responsible for judging the Young Farmers on their dynamic and static conformation of the College horses and choosing the most suitable to type.

The Young Farmers spent time looking at each horse in the arena and in the stables, and then had to feedback their results and conclusions to Joanna and Jenny. There were Junior, Intermediate, and Senior classes.

Joanna Baxter, Centre Manager for Animal, Equine Studies and Engineering, said: “The Young Farmers were full of praise for our horses here at College, complimenting on the behaviour and care. We had a great time helping out and look forward to doing it again in the future.”
