Health & Social Care

Health and Social Care students are celebrating incredible levels of success, following the release of their January examination results.

Alison Lockyer, Anatomy and Physiology tutor, was ecstatic that all of her students had passed the challenging examination on the first sitting, with over 30% gaining distinction grades. She stated that she was “proud of each and every student.”

Similarly, Chelsea Bowditch, a newly qualified teacher, deemed all of her students “amazing”, and was incredibly uplifted by the fact that all of her Extended Diploma students had passed the Research Methods examination, with many also achieving merits and distinctions.

Zoe Macdonald, Head of School of School of Community Services and Academic Progression, noted that it was a particularly good day for the department and commented: “I’m incredibly proud of all of the staff and students. The purpose of examinations is to allow students to demonstrate and apply their knowledge to the best of their ability, and today Health and Social Care students have shown that it is their time to shine.”

Jess Cornthwaite, Health and Social Care tutor, said: “Whilst many schools and colleges have turned away from the traditional BTEC qualification due to fears that the new examinations may negatively impact on grades, Craven College has worked hard to train staff to become examination experts and the results have paid off.”
