Thursday 13 January saw Craven College students celebrating their GCSE English and Maths results!
In November 2021, across England, nearly 100,000 students sat their English and maths GCSE exams during another difficult academic year for students. Regardless, our students have shown great resilience, during the past two years, in the face of disruption within education.
238 Craven College students collected their results last week and the College is extremely proud of their results. 34% of students achieved Grade 4 or above for their English GCSE results and 32% of students achieved Grade 4 or higher for maths, which is 11% above the national average.
Michael Cawdrey, Head of GCSE English/Functional Skills in English comments “As the Head of English, I am in awe of the fantastic achievement of our students who have achieved their results in November. It is a true testament to their hard work and dedication in the face of disruption during the pandemic, taking them on their next step in their ambitions, whilst studying at Craven College.”
Martin Lofthouse, Head of Department – Business, Construction and Maths said, “In these difficult times, it is testament to the dedication and hard work that learners have put in to achieve their GCSE passes. Congratulations to you all!”
