Horse Management Level 3 students enjoyed a trip to Crow Wood Equestrian Centre, Burnley to view the facilities and discuss current rehabilitation techniques and how to manage a successful equestrian business.
The students took part in a tour with the manager, Wayne Marsland, who explained the different aspects of the business as well as giving a demonstration of some of the rehabilitation equipment. Students were able to see the Theraplate which can speed up healing in half the time, help with injury prevention and reduce the cause of most pain, solarium and the water treadmill that is now popular for the rehabilitation of horses following injury as well as improving fitness.
Penny Ralph, Equine Tutor said: “It was a great opportunity for the students to look around top-class facilities and to meet Penelope the horse.”
