Craven College students were amongst those celebrating success after receiving their Maths and English GCSE results (approximately 400 students were entered for resit Maths and/or English GCSE). After a year of classes, workshops, revision sessions at Easter and Spring Bank, the results were in.
Bethan Astle, of Skipton who, as well as completing her first year of Art and Design Level 3, resat her English GCSE and achieved a level 5. This now means that she can continue with the 2nd year of her course and will have the option of University entry. This was 4th time lucky for Bethan who is feeling ‘On top of the world' and will now be able to follow her dreams to study Textiles at University after completing her course next year.
Philippa Game, of Otley, who is studying Performing Arts was ‘Buzzing' after achieving a level 4 (C) in her English GCSE.
Stephen Irvine, of Skipton, a Media Level 3 student, was overjoyed with his Level 5 (B/C) English GCSE.
Robert Bellfield, the Principal, said ‘Well done to all of our students who have had successful resits in English and Maths GCSEs. This year we have had a record number of students enrolling with Craven College from school not having achieved at least 9-4(C) in both English and Maths. Our tuition and support package has ensured that 99% of those retaking English and 97% of those taking Maths have now passed it and can progress to the next level of their education'.
