This weekend saw a team of staff and students from the College paddle to victory at the Dragon Boat Racing Event at Coniston Hall, In Coniston Cold.

Students from Public Services, Sport and Catering, alongside College staff, whose team name was ‘All Theory, No practice’, raced across Coniston Hall lake, in four rounds, each of a distance of 200 metres, against 17 competitor teams, accumulating in a nail-biting finish.

Bridget Slater, Head of Department for Sport, Public Services & Supported Learning and winning team member commented, “It was a fantastic team-building exercise for the college. Four closely fought races culminating in an exciting final; a neck and neck finish requiring the judges’ deliberation over video replay!”

The Dragon Boat 2022 Winners’ trophy, kindly awarded by the event organisers Skipton Rotary, will be on display at the Aireville campus from next week.
