Creating an Image Competition
Published 12 January
Before the Christmas Holidays, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing & Nail Services students took part in the annual ‘Creating an Image’ competition for the first time at the new Style Academy.
The competition is a compulsory unit on all Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing and Nail Services courses.
Students first decided on a theme and researched the topic, they then created a mood board and practiced for the final competition day where they were judged. They were responsible for the full look including the hair, make-up, and clothing.
This year some of the topics the students chose to work with included Disney, Bridal, and Christmas themes.
Students were able to have professional photographs taken of their work, which enhanced the experience for them.
