Craven College helps Equine Student on the Road to Success
Ella Stuttard, a past student of Craven College, has begun her studies at Harper Keele Vet School, studying Veterinary Medicine. Prior to securing her university place, Ella studied a Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Equine Management and progressed onto an Access to HE course.
Ella’s ambition was to progress to study veterinary medicine, so within her course, she took additional elective units Biochemistry and Microbiology from the Animal Management Level 3 course to help expand her knowledge.
Ella also completed extensive work experience within her Level 3 course, which she feels was a contributing factor in helping her secure her university place. Working at a stud and veterinary centre really helped embed and expand the skills and knowledge she learned in College.
Whilst at Craven College, Ella competed with her own horses in British Dressage competitions and since completing her college course, Ella has successfully qualified for the British Dressage Area finals and has been selected as British Dressage North West Youth Ambassador and was BD Foundation Academy athlete for 2021.
Ella comments, “I’m really enjoying university life. Craven College provided me with the practical skills to feel confident in my animal handling sessions and gave me a good foundation for independent study.”
