Craven College continues its journey to be Carbon Net-Zero by 2030 and has just published its ‘Streamlined Energy and Carbon’ Report for 2022.

The report follows a framework of regulations by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy that came into effect in April 2019 and sets out the various actions the College has taken to reduce its carbon footprint.

From these actions, the report demonstrates the positive impact that has already been made, reducing the number of metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions per staff member from 2.18 in 2019 to 1.88 in 2021.

There are a number of projects the College has undertaken to improve its overall energy efficiency and to be more environmentally sustainable. These include a reduction of the use of paper, electric car charging points, and departmental environmental initiatives, such as tree planting, environmentally friendly beauty products, and the new ‘Bee Seat’, which is situated on the Aireville campus.

The College recognises its part to play in promoting environmental sustainability and continues to be fully committed to making the world a healthier place.
