National Science & Media Museum Visit

Published 19 February

Computing students recently visited the National Science and Media Museum.

The work-based learning enrichment trip allowed students to look at the world of IT and how it has developed over the years, both for private use and in industry.

Students were able to view the improvements made to IT over the years and how this has shaped modern media output.

A gaming exhibition showcased how computer games have been developed since the first back in the 1970’s. The group could see how graphics, usability, and gameplay have evolved since then.

Christopher Wright, IT tutor, said: “The trip was fantastic. The gaming exhibition tied in nicely with our current work on Computer Games Development, Project Management and The Internet of Things, all of which are units we are currently studying.”
