A small group of Early Years students spent two sessions teaching Foundation Learning students how to care for babies and the following week planned different activities to promote children’s learning and development.
The group demonstrated how to change nappies, how to bath a baby, how to make up a bottle of milk, feed them and how to generally care for them.
The session came about after Foundation Learning students expressed an interest in wanting to know more about caring for babies and young children.
Julie Clarkson, Early Years tutor, said: “The session was very good with all students engaging in each activity. The Foundation Learning students learned a lot and gave positive feedback about the experience and it also gave the Early Years students a chance to put into practice what they have learned on the course so far and really test their knowledge.”
