This week, Health & Social Care students had a visit from Diane Armstrong from Anchor Care Homes.

The main purpose of the visit was to raise awareness of the varied and wide job opportunities within the care sector as well as offering the opportunity for students to take part in work experience at the different care homes.

Diane also explained her own career path in care since she was 15 and how she has progressed to her current role as Service Improvement Adviser. Diane also mentioned the key frameworks that Anchor Care focus on and how patient care is at the forefront of what they do.  She also talked about the new communication methods that they are using, for example, Alexa and Memoride. This enabled the students to link these examples to their communication unit as well as Individual needs.
