Students Do Business in Poland

Business

Business Studies students enjoyed another amazing study trip to Poland where they learnt about the Polish culture, people, places, education and work opportunities through insightful visits.

Business student Hash organised an Information Evening as part of his Manage an Event unit. The students, parents and staff enjoyed Polish food, displays from previous trips and maps showing the proposed travel routes.

Preparation for the trip included learning the basics of the Polish language from tutor Karolina, who also brought some Polish food and drinks into class to help students learn how to ask for the basics.

One student reported, ‘For many of us Poland was very different to what we expected and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a fabulous place to visit or work/study. We started the visit off with a 34Km bike ride up the Hel Peninsula. We enjoyed the tri-city visits to Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot and their business districts. One of the highlights was a trip to the Solidarity museum – which might sound boring – but was really interesting. The Polish Brewery was also great fun and very interesting to learn how beer is made and its markets around the world. We were well looked after by the staff at Gdansk University and some of us are interested in studying here in the future. For most of us, the 2 days in Warsaw were the best – a beautiful city with some much history and culture as well as an international shopping scene and restaurant experience.’

Course Leader, Jill Frik said, ‘This visit is a fantastic and often unique opportunity for the students to interact and learn both business and culture of a country they would not normally visit. We are grateful to the Erasmus+ Programme, which enabled this cultural immersion to take place.’
