Our Trip to London

Excited and raring to go – our journey from Leeds station to Kings Cross was a relaxing and fun experience which included hair straightening for some! On arrival we made are way to the Equity Point Hostel hungry and ready to explore London.

First up the Underground to Madame Tussaud’s. After a bag search we entered ‘the world of celebrities’ from Formula One driver’s like Lewis Hamilton to singers like Rhianna and Adele. We all managed to take a sneaky snap with the majesty herself and Kim Kardashian.

In the evening, The Shard, Europe’s tallest skyscraper, where we looked out over the illuminated city of London. Everyone took a trip to the bathroom as you could still look out while doing your business. Not your usual view from a bathroom.

It took us a while to decide where to eat with arguing involved but we eventually ended up in Pizza Hut. Not the normal Pizza hut experience but couldn’t complain as we were starving.

Next day The London Eye. It was a very good experience but we wished we had all wrapped up warmer – we definitely weren’t in the Maldives. The views were spectacular and was it definitely worth the half an hour queue to get on. A short walk along the Thames took us to The London Dungeons – very scary. The actors made the experience so realistic – most of us screamed throughout.

Later the Underground to Oxford Street. We didn’t realise how long Oxford Street was and how many shops there were. It was definitely shopping paradise. We all hit the shops till we dropped.

On our last night we went to the theatre to see The Lion King. The singers and actors were amazing and we all sang along!

The time had arrived and it was time to travel home. Everyone was very tired and sad to be leaving London. We had enjoyed the trip and had an exciting time. A big thank you to Nikki Old & Sarah Burgess. We couldn’t of have asked for any better tutors to take us. They made the trip fun and made sure everyone was part of it.
