Tyro Training and Craven College Apprenticeships were delighted to welcome David Cutter, Group Chief Executive, Skipton Building Society to officially open their new Employer Hub situated at the Auction Mart, Skipton. The newly refurbished premises house professional, well-equipped rooms for the delivery of training for businesses and apprentices with extensive parking and an in-house Café.
The event coincided with Robert Bellfield's farewell as Principal and the opening marked the culmination of his long-term plan that Tyro Training should move from the centre of Skipton to the Auction Mart. Throughout his tenure as Principal, Robert has worked to make the College more efficient and has gradually reduced the number of campuses whilst maintaining the breadth of courses through investment in new bespoke buildings for Construction and Animal Management at Aireville Campus, with more exciting equine investment planned in collaboration with the Auction Mart for September 2019.
Lindsey Daniels, Director of Business & Community Development shared Tyro's positive vision for the future with the assembled representatives of local businesses and partners.
Current Apprentices enthusiastically shared their experiences of work and College life as an alternative to full-time education.
David Mabbitt, Chair of the Board of Governors, thanked Robert Bellfield and wished him a happy retirement and welcomed the new Principal, Andrew Cropley.
