We would be delighted to receive applications for the role of Governor.
Craven College are looking for individuals from the local community to join our Board of Governors. Our governors contribute their skills and expertise to help us achieve our mission to “enrich lives through learning”.
Being a Governor is a highly rewarding, voluntary role and this is a particularly exciting time to be involved with Craven College. As a member of the Governing Board, governors set the mission and strategic direction of the College and scrutinise its performance.
The Board meets around seven times a year through term time, in addition to two Away Days devoted to strategic planning. The Board also regularly receives presentations from staff in College on current issues and actively engages with the Student Union to hear the views of the students for which it is responsible.
For the continued success of the College it is essential that we recruit dynamic Board members with the right skills and experience. We are keen to involve people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. This voluntary role brings many professional rewards such as boardroom experience and developing strategic leadership skills and provides many opportunities to contribute to the local community.
The insight, experience and ideas of our Governors have a positive impact on the learning journey made by our 6,300 full and part time students.
