Awarding Body:

If your dream job is exciting, demanding and rewarding career in one of the essential Uniformed Public Services, then these courses enable you to study the different Services, develop the leadership skills and participate in the physical training which will allow you to progress towards Degree Level study or employment in the Services.

Sport is a significant part of the course and you will take part in team-building activities and lots of physical training. The majority of Uniformed Services require potential recruits to undertake a fitness test and you will be expected to reach the standard of entry for the Police Service by the end of the course.

You will be taught by highly qualified tutors who have many years’ experience working in and developing excellent links with the Services. Your learning experience will be enriched with regular visits from sector speakers and industry trips to the Fire Service, Police Service (including HQ, Operations Support and Riot Training), the Army (Look at Life programmes), Royal Marines and Royal Navy. Residential trips have included London, New York and Cyprus. (see Craven College News).

You must complete 315 hours’ work experience per academic year in addition to your College public service timetable.
