Mental Health Awareness Award (NCFE)

At the root of this dilemma is the way we view mental health in this country.  Whether an illness affects your heart, your leg or your brain, it’s still and illness, and there should be no distinction.  (Michelle Obama)

Overview

This course will explore what is meant by mental health and well-being. You will examine the most common mental health conditions and look at their treatments and consider the role of specialist organisations and how they can support people and families.  Together we will review the support for a person in crisis and what advice there is in the local community.  Finally, you will review how to maintain good mental health.

This course is assessed externally through a 40 minute test paper or e-assessment of 20 multiple choice questions.
