Overview

This course is for students of all ages, designed to bridge the gap between supported learning and working in a commercial environment. It can be a stepping stone towards our Professional Cookery Level 1 course.

You will gain a real insight into the Hospitality industry and build up your confidence and self-esteem during teamwork tasks. The majority of your work will be carried out in our two fully equipped commercial kitchens, the Brasserie Restaurant and Bar where you will gain the basic Hospitality skills required to work in the workplace. Much of your work will be ‘hands-on’ practical work, developing your chopping and slicing skills with kitchen knives, using specialist utensils and learning about equipment in a modern kitchen. You will also have the opportunity to visit different types of catering establishments including hotels, restaurants and cafes

Tutors are highly qualified professionals with a wealth of industry experience. The course provides a high level of supported learning, tailored towards your individual needs and you will develop a wide range of personal, interpersonal and work-related skills learnt through the context of Hospitality and Catering.
