Beauty Professional Apprenticeship

With the demand for beauty therapy and cosmetic enhancement on the rise, the beauty industry is booming and employers are looking for dynamic employees to help deliver new and innovative treatments to paying clients.

On this Apprenticeship, you will learn how to provide, design, and implement bespoke treatment plans. These advanced treatments range from advanced manual therapies such as advanced massage techniques, technical therapies such as face and body electrical treatments, to meet and manage client needs and expectations. You will learn to implement organisational operations (salon business systems and processes, data protection) to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, contribute to financial the effectiveness of the business, maintaining and maximising resources, (people, equipment and consumables).

Entry Requirements

  • While there are no formal entry requirements for this apprenticeship, you may be required to do an Initial Assessment to ascertain your suitability for the course
  • If you do not hold a qualification in English and maths at Level 1, you will be required to pass Functional Skills in these subjects and work towards Level 2 prior to the completion of the apprenticeship
  • No other specific qualifications are required as full training will be given

Selects, uses, and applies a range of beauty therapy techniques, products, tools and equipment to provide:

  • waxing services (legs, underarms, face and bikini line)
  • hand and nail treatments
  • foot treatments
  • facial skin care treatments
  • eyelash and eyebrow treatments
  • make-up application
  • basic massage treatments (back, neck and shoulder)
  • Personal and professional ethics
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • Maintain client care principles and practices

How you will study...

  • Monthly workplace visits from a Learning Development Advisor
  • College attendance 1 day per week during term time
  • 6 hrs per week ‘off the job training’ tracked
  • Portfolio building – work based evidence
