Overview

You will learn how to control and use a domestic sewing machine to produce a garment or set of garments including, where required, a series of sewing samples and stitch methods. With support and help, you will follow the instruction from the pattern and learn the techniques required to complete a garment to fit yourself or another. You will also be able to create a range of samples, including finished seams and hems for dressmaking and soft furnishings. Building your portfolio of skills, you can look at how different seams are produced, create tucks and darts, add bias binding, insert a zip and create a decorative edge. The list is endless; you will develop your existing skills and look at new ones that you can use in one of our other courses on offer.

This course it is designed to accommodate all levels of experience in a workshop environment.
