Learn to control a sewing machine for a range of creative textiles and sewing skills. This workshop provides the opportunity for individual requirements from using a commercial dressmaking pattern, machine embroidery, soft furnishings, making a roman blind, wall hangings, felt making etc. The course emphasizes hands-on practical experience. The choice of what you want to make is yours.

You will learn how to control and use a domestic sewing machine, including where required a series of textile and sewing samples and surface decorations. With support and help, you will learn the techniques required to complete your chosen textile options. You will also be able to create a range of samples, including finished seams and hems for dressmaking and soft furnishings, machine embroidery, fabric dyeing, felt making and fabric decorations. Building your portfolio of skills you can look at how different creative textiles are produced, the list is endless; you will develop your existing skills and look at new ones that you can use in a variety of finished products.
This course is designed to accommodate all levels of experience in a workshop environment.
Your choices may include:
- Sewing workshop
You will be required to provide all the fabrics, threads, trimmings for making your sewing or textile pieces.
