Overview

The course provides a comprehensive understanding of animal management and will equip you with the necessary knowledge to assess the welfare needs of animals, enable you to acquire practical animal management skills and devise management strategies pertinent to the animal sector.

Our brand new £1.6m Animal Management Centre, due for completion in April 2018, will extend our high quality provision for Animal Management HNC students. The new facilities include a reception area with a large display tank, specialist rooms for fish, invertebrates, nocturnals, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, amphibians, plus quarantine and isolation rooms.

Modules of study include animal welfare, behaviour, nutrition, management of exotic species and a research project.

The Animal Management HNC is delivered at Craven College and is validated by Pearson. A HNC is a nationally recognised qualification in its own right and is in the first year of an HND course.
