Travel & Tourism

Travel and tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing industries, employing millions of people encompassing a huge range of opportunities both in the UK and overseas, in a range of settings including, holiday destinations, cruise ships and the new activity and adventure tourism sector.

The professionals who work within this industry need to be flexible, adaptable and able to work with a variety of people in a multitude of settings. The Centre for Travel and Tourism Studies leads the field in the provision of education and training in this area and has forged strong relationships with major tour operators including Tui Travel, First Choice, Haven Europe and aviation organisations including Servisair and Jet2.com.

Our specialist teams have industry experience and enjoy passing on their expertise and enthusiasm. Their strong sector links ensure you will be up-to-date with developments in travel and tourism as well as achieve industry standard qualifications and employment skills.

Our full-time courses involve residential trips in the UK and overseas and you will meet industry speakers and enjoy industry visits which form part of the curriculum. Our students have received funding to spend two weeks in Italy as part of their course, studying Italian and undertaking work experience. Many courses include aviation modules so you will also have the opportunity to visit our Aviation Academy at Leeds Bradford International Airport. For more details on The Aviation Academy, see Aviation.

Our courses equip you to progress to higher level study including degrees at the Centre for Travel and Tourism Studies or The Aviation Academy, Leeds Metropolitan University, London Metropolitan University and University of Bradford. You may also go straight into employment from your programme of study.  Our students have gained employment with:
