We bring in mainly revenue funding giving the College direct and indirect profits and some capital funding: most recently capital was acquired for the LRC in Auction Mart and Heritage construction. ERDF enterprise is on the cards.
Our roles are as follows:
- The traditional hunter gatherer role means we have bids going in all the time. We write bids ourselves or support other divisions or teams in their efforts. We do have some broad strategic priorities, supporting College overall objectives,, but we are happy to talk to all about ideas and potential projects with anybody who comes up with them!
- Managing claims for bids we have secured but which are delivered elsewhere in the College: e.g. Dry Stone Walling, delivered by Rural and Equine, and the Skills for Jobs North Yorkshire initiatives delivered by Tyro.
- Managing our own projects we have secured. These are mainly concerned with engaging hard to reach adult learners, promoting employability and enterprise development, although we also have a project targeting NEET young people in Craven. One key area for activity for us is West Yorkshire, particularly Keighley and the Aire Valley.
- We support a range of curriculum- related proposals. These include the 14-19 diploma submissions and the, EU funded Leonardo programme for European work experience – which several Divisions have used for their students. We will also be supporting the EU funded Erasmus – programme for our HE students.
- We are responsible for making contacts and finding facilities for the delivery of core funding (including PCDL funding) in Keighley and its neighbourhood.
- We represent the College at various external meetings from the cross regional ESF Stakeholder Evaluation Group to local meetings of the Craven Employment and Skills Partnership
