The VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Nail Technology (QCF) is a specialist vocationally related qualification. This qualification will enable learners at a minimum to gain skills, knowledge and understanding required in order to perform manicure and pedicure treatments on the hands and feet to improve the condition and appearance of the skin and nails.

A range of nail technology techniques, including the use of nail enhancement products also form part of this qualification, which will equip learners with the required attributes, skills, knowledge and understanding needed to perform professional nail treatments for clients via employment or self employment in the nail services industry.

This qualification is most suited to learners who wish to embark on a career as a Nail Technician.

There are some compulsory and some optional units on this course. Units may include:

• Follow health and safety practice in the salon
• Provide and maintain nail enhancement
• Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
• Provide manicure treatments
