This course runs 3.30-6.00 on Monday afternoons. Once a month there is an extended workshop session which follows on from the timetabled class. This runs between 6.30-8.00pm, dates to be confirmed.
The aims of this course are to develop the knowledge and understanding required of all members of the school workforce who directly support the teaching and learning of pupils. You will need to be employed or on a substantial placement in school setting.
You will study the following units:
Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
Schools as organisations
Understanding child and young person development
Understanding how to safeguard the well being of children and young people
Develop professional relationships with children, young people and adults
Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
Support assessment for learning
Engage in personal development in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
Support children and young people’s health and safety
Understand child and young person development
Understand how to safeguard the well being of children and young people
Portfolio and assessment in the workplace.
