The aims of this course are to equip members of the school workforce [in either employed or voluntary capacity] with the skills needed to support teaching in a school environment.
You will study the following units:
Unit 01 Child and Young person Development
Unit 02 Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
Unit 03 Communication and professional relationships
Unit 04 Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
Unit 05 Help improve own and team practice in schools
Unit 06 Maintain and support relationships with children and young people
Unit 07 Support children and young people ‘s health and safety
Unit 08 Support children and young people’s positive behaviour
Unit 09 Support learning activities
Plus 6 optional units
Level 2 literacy [assessed on entry]
Volunteer placement or employed in school setting [minimum suggested 3 hours per week]
Portfolio and assessment in the workplace,
