This is a basic beginners counselling course which will develop your counselling skills, develop a greater self awareness in a safe environment and introduce awareness of professional issues in a helping relationship.
The course will be based on developing your counselling skills and employs a wide variety of learning methods. You must be prepared to use and examine your own issues in skills practice work and be prepared to share with all course members.
Topics covered include:
An interest in learning about using counselling skills and a willingness to practice in group work situations. An informal interview is required before enrolling on the course.
You will create a portfolio to include all fully completed worksheets, a personal journal, an essay, skills practice sheets and a personal action plan.
