End of Year Show

Each Year Craven College’s School of Art, Media and Performance opens its’ doors to the public to share the incredible work that our students create, during the End of Year Show.

Our 2012 End of Year Show, entitled After Image opens on Tuesday 19th June, with a private view on at 6.30pm.  Our special guest this year is film producer Piers Tempest - just back from Cannes! (he produced Quills and Oyster Farmer).

The exhibition showcases the best of the visual and performing arts at Craven College including Fine Art, Fashion, Photography, Graphics, 3 Dimensional Design, Moving Image and Digital Multi Media. Levels 2 to Foundation Degree work will be on show.  Level 2 and 3 Performing arts students will open the private view with Bohemian Rhapsody and a medley of songs from the Jersey Boys. Craven College Radio will also be broadcasting live from 18th – 22nd June, on an FM restricted service license, as well as streaming on line.  Media and Journalism students are in charge of broadcasts and programming throughout the week.

The studios have been converted into galleries for the exhibition and “The Street” gallery in the entrance to the School has been transformed into a stunning focal point for visitors to begin to experience the quality of the work on show.

Head of School at Craven College, Theresa Savage said:

“The show highlights the exciting variety of visual and performing arts work that our talented students at Craven College produce each year”

Also six groups of Creative Media Production students from Craven College entered the open online video competition to create a 30-second advert for a "Frixion" Pilot Pen.  The "Dracula" episode, produced by Abigail Barker and Richard Ivory has been selected as the winning entry and will be awarded £250 prize money, which will go towards the running of the College radio station.
