Craven College has the reputation of being amongst the best performing General Further Education Colleges in England and over the last twenty years has been establishing a range of degree level study.
Craven College is over one hundred years old. It was established in 1894 and we still occupy the original building on the busy High Street in the centre of Skipton. This is now our Centre for Service Industries. However the College has not stood still and has a reputation for being in the forefront of developments in education and training - working closely with industry to make sure that our students are equipped for the future. Over the last 20 years, in addition to our Further Education courses, we have established degree level programmes in a range of subjects including Aviation Management which support the 21st century global economy.
Our Ofsted Inspection which took place in October 2010 grades us a good college withoutstanding features, including outstanding strategic leadership; whilst the quality process required for our Higher Education courses also shows us to be a quality focussed organisation.
The College also holds a range of other quality marks which confirm our commitment to providing first class provision for all our students.
Our staff are highly qualified. Many hold Masters and Doctorate degrees and most have worked in relevant industries before coming into teaching. The reason why they are here is because they are committed to passing on their skills and knowledge to others and helping young people to establish fulfilling careers.
