The construction industry is not just about new buildings; the UK has a vast number of historic and listed buildings which require repair and maintenance. To meet all these needs calls for a skilled workforce equipped with contemporary and traditional craft skills.

The unique Centre for Construction & Heritage Skills, provides construction courses at the purpose built facilities on the Airedale Business Park in Skipton. The Centre has recently expanded, more than doubling its capacity and industry standard training facilities.

Specialist Facilities Include:

  • 5500 square metres of purpose-built facilities
  • Well equipped workshops for practical construction skills training
  • Quality workshops, tools and equipment to support all trades programmes.
  • Purpose built heritage workshop which includes blacksmithing, forgework, stone carving and stained glass facilities
  • State of the art construction materials testing laboratory
  • Two on-site computer suites with state of the art computers to enable you to gain relevant ICT skills and experience
  • Well equipped tutorial and lecture room facilities
  • Well equipped resource centre dedicated to construction programmes
  • Refectory and recreation facilities
  • Wide variety of expertise and access to a broad range of off-site facilities
  • Flexible learning opportunities at all levels
