Apprenticeships : Customer Services

Customer Services are the 'face' of any organisation and for this reason play a very important part in the customer experience. Good communication skills and professional handling of customer enquiries is key.  An Apprenticeship can help you to develop this skills so that you can work comfortably when dealing with people.

What will I study?

A wide variety of skills are needed for the Customer Service Apprenticeship, including identifying customers and what they value. You must have patience, excellent organisational skills and a commitment to work with a clear telephone manner.

How long does the course last?

Course duration is 12-24 months depending upon age and level.

Course Content

NVQ/Diploma Level 2 Customer Service units include:

  • Delivering Reliable Customer Service
  • Develop Customer Relationships
  • Recognise and Deal with Customer Queries, Request and Problems

NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Customer Service units include:

  • Go the Extra Mile in Customer service
  • Lead a Team to Improve Customer Service
  • Monitor & Solve Customer Service Problems

Additional Study

  • Certificate/Diploma in Customer Service
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English
  • Some Apprentices will complete Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

How will I be assessed?

College attendance will be required one day per week. An assessor will visit you in your workplace to assess your competence and help you to build a portfolio of evidence. The Certificate/ Diploma in Customer Service will be assessed by an online exam.

Entry Requirements

  • Employment/Work Placement in industry
  • GCSE grade C in Mathematics & English
