Surveys of staff and students have consistently shown that one of the things they want at Craven College is a great recycling facility. Working in conjunction with Leeds Recycling we are introducing a series of targeted actions including new types of bins to collect all waste.
This means that everything will be recycled and we will become a zero landfill/ 100% recycling college with the ‘Let's Go Zero’ campaign. This initiative begins in March 2011 with the Auction Mart Campus as a pilot and it will then be rolled out across all other campuses . Recycling will be easier, cleaner, greener, and, as an added bonus, we will be paid around £18 per tonne for our waste – money that will be ring fenced to spend on student led environmental initiatives.
‘Let’s Go Zero’ will eventually involve around 7000 people – full and part time students, and staff - and cut our CO2 emissions.
