Craven College is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and this increases our awareness of our responsibility in protecting the environment.

As well as striving for excellence in teaching and learning, we are committed to managing our activities, buildings and estates to promote environmental sustainability, to conserve and enhance natural resources, to prevent environmental pollution and to bring about a continual improvement in our environmental performance.

The College actively promotes a wide range of sustainability activities and projects, and these are overseen by the staff and students who sit on our Environmental Sustainability Committee. The new teaching and learning facilities currently being erected at our Aireville Campus have been designed to incorporate a wide range of ‘sustainability’ features including solar panels, rainwater harvesting and highly efficient under floor heating.  You may enjoy using our ‘Green Cycle Centre’ or get involved in composting and recycling initiatives – the Learner Council and Environmental Sustainability Committee are keen to hear the views of anyone wishing to contribute to this important aspect of College life.
