The HCA does its best to provide events that the whole college community will really enjoy, as well as raising much needed funds for the college. Of course, all this will enhance education and experience at college, whether by providing equipment or assisting with college trips. We welcome all parents and guardians to our Home College Association (HCA). As parents or guardians of learners at the college you are automatically a member of the Home College Association.
Would you like to help organise events? e.g. quiz nights, ladies nights, beer and skittles etc?
Do you have any skills, hobbies or hidden talents that may be useful: e.g. painting, carpentry, gardening, baking, financial, marketing?
Do you work for/own a company that might be prepared to donate a raffle prize or sponsor a stall at our Christmas or summer fair?
Do you work for a company that has a Company Matched Giving scheme for employees, such as a bank or building society? If you don’t know, would you be prepared to ask them?
Would you be interested in joining the committee to help plan and organise events and fundraising (we meet for about two hours every 4-6 weeks)?
Would you be prepared to be a course representative to pass on information to other parents?
The college have a well established learner council which provides a strong learner voice. The council pride themselves on meeting learner’s needs and requirements. Their main push this year will be fundraising and this is where they would like the HCA to work alongside them.
