As a full–time student you will study for a Project Qualification where you conduct a piece of research on a subject of your choice. In the AS year you will produce a Level 2 project and, in the second year, a Level 3 Extended Project. The Extended Project is highly valued by universities and employers and forms part of the AQA Baccalaureate. Virtual Learning Environment

At Craven College you will be able to enjoy web–based learning within your own course Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Learning becomes more interesting, visual and interactive; tutors and fellow students can be easily contacted, with accessible resources, course work can be emailed and progress tracked. Craven College is committed to implementing good practice by integrating e–learning techniques supporting effective teaching and learning to ensure your success.

Craven College Study Mentor Scheme

Craven College has a study mentor scheme. Volunteers are placed in schools to act as ‘role models’, encouraging pupils to raise their educational aspirations. The scheme is intensive but rewarding in terms of one–to–one relationships.

Application forms are available in the Full-time Course Directory or by downloading the application form in the Prospectus & Download Section. Everyone that applies for a full–time course is invited to interview, during which you will:

• Check you are applying for the right course
• Receive information about extra support, grants and financial help available

You will also be asked if you have any disabilities or learning difficulties. We have a range of specialist equipment as well as personal support available and we encourage you to enquire about this when applying for your course. You will also meet a tutor from the course area you have chosen who will talk to you about:

• What you will do on the course
• What you enjoy doing at school or at work
• Why you have chosen this course
• What you need to get onto the course
• Any extra costs associated with the course
